This position is within our team of 20+ technical support engineers assisting users on a mix of systems and technologies.
Our services are delivered 24:365, and this position involves sharing out-of-hours under a generous working shifts pattern (see below).
Key skills are an interest in technology, particularly in the networking and security field. Prior experience in these areas is wonderful. If none, all you need is an interest in learning.
Prior experience of any helpdesk role is a bonus, although full training is required. A good personality is the prime requirement, with an interest in solving problems.
Our 1st line working pattern involves evening, night and weekend working but is structured on a highly successful pattern which allows generous time off. Our engineers typically have more free time than a normal M-F 9-5 job role. It is based on a cycle 6 days on and 4 days off, with 2 early days (6am-2pm), 2 late days (2pm-10pm) and 2 nights (10pm-6am). Followed by 4 days off.
Starting salary depends on skills and experience. A core salary is supplemented by allowances for out-of-hours duties. Typical salary package is £20k-£25k p.a.
